Billy "Chilly Wayne" Perrin Obituary

Mr. Billy ”Chilly Wayne” Perrin, 67, was born on August 31, 1958, to the late J. Willie Perrin and Mary Perrin Harris.

Billy graduated from McCormick High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1977. After graduation he worked for McCormick County School System for many years. He later began a career in concrete construction, where he worked diligently for many years. Although he valued hard work, he eventually discovered his true passion in the entertainment industry as a DJ, known affectionately as “Chilly Wayne”. He became a respected and recognizable figure, building a team of entrepreneurs who helped pave the way for future DJs. Together, “Chilly Wayne and the Gang” established a well-known name that left a lasting mark on the local entertainment community.

Chill was a man who enjoyed life on his own terms. During his later years, he spent his time doing what he loved most and surrounding himself with the people who meant the most to him. His presence, personality, and love for music created memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Chill was preceded in death by his parents and leaves behind a legacy of love through his cherished family. His memory will forever be treasured by his children; sons, Dwayne Leverette, Rodney Leverette and Christopher Leverett all of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Ashley Leverette of Atlanta, GA and Savanna Childs of Spartanburg, SC; eight grandchildren; the mother of his four children, Lucinda Price of Atlanta, GA; brother, Willie “Pete” Perrin of McCormick, SC; cousin; Mary L. Crummie of McCormick, SC , and good friend, Clyde “Nook” Letman of McCormick, SC, along with a host of close friends, extended family members, and all whose lives were touched by his friendship, music, and unforgettable spirit.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Billy “Chilly Wayne” Perrin’s legacy will continue to live on through the lives he impacted, the music he shared, and the memories that will be cherished forever. YOU YOU YOU!!
