Carrie Mae Jones Moss of 453 Moss Avenue, McCormick, SC transitioned to her eternal heavenly home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the home of her daughter Carolyn R. Jones in Greenwood, SC. She was born on August 4, 1950 to her parents, the late Abraham Jones, Sr. & Anna Belle Jones-Smith.
Carrie was married to the late Arnold Moss, Jr., to this union two children were born, Carolyn Rene’ Jones of Greenwood, SC. and Clarence Moss (Shanda) of Destin, Florida. Later she gave birth to Christopher (Poochie) Moss of McCormick, SC.
She is also survived by her brothers Abraham Jones Jr. and Charles (Bobbie) Jones both of Greenwood, SC. Carrie’s memories will be cherished by five beautiful sisters Marian Lomax, Linda (Daniel) Anderson, Annette (Clifford) Jackson, Patricia (Greg) Yeldell, all of Greenwood, SC and Betty(Craig) Wharton of Abbeville, SC. Carrie reared two nephews Maurice and Marquaris Jones, as well as a god niece Courtney Jones of Columbia, SC. God bestowed upon her a blessing of five grandchildren to include Tienna Postell, Evan Yarbrough, Cacie Moss, Khatia Yarbrough, and Krystiana Moss. She has one sister-in-law Lorene Turman, Willington, SC, a brother-in-law James Curtis Moss of Greenwood, SC. Finally, one maternal aunt Mary Green, Anderson, SC. We also want to acknowledge a beloved departed (niece) Arlishia Ka’Shunda White and a host of additional nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to celebrate her Home going.
Carrie was a faithful member of Harper’s Chapel Church of God Holiness, Mt. Carmel, SC. She loved life and her church. In addition to serving in the church for over 60 years. She served on the choir, the Kitchen Committee and the Building Fund Committee, Sisters Willing Workers and was a member of the Women’s Home Aide Society #86. Carrie retired from Milliken Mills (Sage) Automotive after 40 years of dedicated service to the textile industry.
To know her is to love her...She enjoyed cooking and made sure no one went hungry in her presence! She was very much a loving people person. She never met a stranger!
