Daisy Mae Simmons

Daisy Mae Simmons was born in McCormick, SC on August 18, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Willie T. Freeman and Essie Wideman.  Daisy departed this life on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. She was 87 years old.

Daisy was a member of Troy Bethel AME Church in Troy, SC where she served as Sunday School Superintendent and Senior Stewart. She attended McCormick County schools and worked in Textiles before her retirement.

 In addition to her parents, Daisy was proceeded in death by two sisters, Vash Freeman and Chanie Briggs and a brother, Willie “Bill” Freeman.

Daisy’s memories will be cherished by her daughters, Geraldine Simmons of Augusta, GA, Sandra Simmons of McCormick, SC and LaVonne Simmons of Greenwood, SC; her longtime special friend, Lonnell Searles  seven grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
