David Jennings Yeldell Sr Obituary

David Jennings Yeldell Sr. was born in Plum Branch, SC on March 23, 1943. He was the last surviving child of the ten children that God blessed the late James and Corine Jennings Yeldell with. David went to be with his savor on July 24, 2023. He was 80 years old.

David’s parents taught him and his siblings to love God and the church. David’s mother was a minister and a pastor’s daughter at Zion Chapel AME Church in McCormick, SC where the family continues to worship and serve.

David’s father taught him that a Godly husband and father loves, protects and provides for his family. He had a beautiful strawberry patch and a large garden that the family loved.

David was a member of Zion Chapel AME Church in McCormick, SC where he was a member of the choir. He also sang with the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Choir and The Flying Clouds of Plum Branch, SC. He attended McCormick County Schools and worked for Greenwood Mills before retirement.

In 1964 David married the beautiful and demure Louise Tolbert. They were blessed with four children, David Yeldell Jr. (Mamie) of Plum Branch, SC, Reggie Yeldell (Michelle) of Simpsonville, SC, Olena Yeldell of the home and Maxine Garrett (Grover) of Edgefield, SC, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Alonzo Yeldell, Samuel Yeldell, Daniel Yeldell, J.C. Yeldell, and Calvin Yeldell and his sisters, Alma Kelly, Lottie Price, Minnie Morgan and Katherine Hammond
