Obituary

On Tuesday morning, April 19, 2022, the Lord called home one of His servants, Donnialla “Donna” Callahan Fuller, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt at the age of 77.

Donna was born on November 12, 1944, in McCormick, SC to the late Tellmon and Ethel Callahan.  She was a 1963 graduate of Mims High School in McCormick and later moved to Mt. Vernon, New York where she resided until her retirement from the Westchester County New York School District in 2016 and moved to Spotsylvania, VA.  On July 4, 1965, Donna married the late William Fuller and they raised two sons, Joey F. Fuller, Sr. (Caiifa Clark) of Bronx, NY, and Keith (Treena) Fuller, Sr. of Beach Island, SC.

Donna had a loving, kind, and compassionate spirit.  She loved the Lord and loved serving God’s people, always willing to help others wherever and however she could.  She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, NY serving on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee until moving south.  She served as an active member of the NAACP and community organizations.  While in the McCormick area, Donna attended and supported Springfield African Methodist Episcopal Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, VA.

Donna loved her family and positively impacted the lives of all she met.  In addition to her two sons, Joey, Sr., and Keith, Sr., she is survived by 2 brothers, Lonzia Neal Callahan of McCormick and Walter Callahan of Woodford, VA; 3 sisters, Mildred Wakefield of Anderson, SC; Belinda Adams of Greenwood, SC, and a special, beloved sister/daughter Nearldean (Rev. Dr. Ernest) Woodson of Spotsylvania, VA; 9 grandchildren (KayShaun, Keith Jr., Daveon, Denea, Alyiah, Jonisha, Tyrek, Deja, Joey, Jr.), 6 great-grandchildren (Tierra, Eric, Camille, Christian, Cameron, Brandon Anthony Jr.);  a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Two special nephews, Brandon Woodson of Spotsylvania, VA and Benjamin Sibert of McCormick, SC.  She was preceded in death by her mother and her father, one brother, James Callahan (Jenny) of New Jersey and a sister/niece, Janice “Pat” Foster.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Andrew Wardlaw Funeral Home, 610 West Gold Street, McCormick, SC  29835.  Acts of condolences may be sent to:
