Eleanor Patterson Martin, age 84, entered eternal reset on August 28, 2026 at Regency Hospital – Upstate in Anderson, SC. She was born on September 8, 1941 in McCormick, SC to of the late Samuel and Emma Lou Patterson.

Eleanor was a member of Shiloh A.M.E. Church, where she served in the Women's Missionary Society.  She was a graduate of Mims High School and worked at both the McCormick Mill and the Harris Plant in Greenwood, SC as a machine operator.

Eleanor loved spending time with her family, solving word puzzles, and playing Bingo. An avid sports fan, she loved cheering on her favorite teams, the Clemson Tigers and the Carolina Panthers. She also cherished her time at the McCormick Senior Center, where she regularly participated in exercise classes, reconnected with lifelong friends, and warmly welcomed new ones. Her gentle spirit and beautiful smile will be missed by those who loved and knew her.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, James R. Martin of McCormick, SC and three daughters: Kathy (Kennya) Sibert of Zebulon, NC, Christa Martin of the home, and Janet (Willie) Kelly of Greenwood, SC, her beloved grandchildren: Jayden Harris, Kayla Sibert, Kennya Sibert Jr. and Celeste Kelly.

Eleanor is also survived by two sisters: Martha Lee Patterson and Carrie Hughey and one brother, James S. (Rosa) Patterson, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Emma L. Patterson, as well as sisters, Nancy Harper, Thelma Kinard, and Alice Patterson.
