Gladys G Harrison

Ms. Gladys G. Harrison was born in McCormick County, SC on March 30,1945 to the late Josephine Kelly Brown and Herbert Bill Brown She departed this life on September 21, 2023 in Greenwood, SC. She was 78 years old.

Gladys was a member of Tranquil A.M.E. Church in Bradley, SC where she attended faithfully until her health declined. She loved reading the 23 Psalm. She graduated from Mims High School and worked as a Home Aid before retirement. She loved writing poetry and spending time with family and friends. She was easy to talk too and loved meeting new people.

Gladys’s  memories will be cherished by her two daughters, Linda Kelly  of McCormick, SC and Janet Harrison of Troy, SC; her sisters, Brenda Kelly of Long Island, NY and  Mary Jane Kelly Mikell of Philadelphia, PA; three brothers, Albert (Annie) Brown and Willie (Ann) Brown both of McCormick, SC and Andrew (Evelyn) Brown of Plum Branch, SC; three grandchildren, Rochelle Harrison, Kameron Harrison and Dequincy Robertson; special niece, Alisha Brown; brother-in-law, Willie Wade Lomax; god-daughter, Karen Freeman and a host of other relatives and friends. 

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by four children, Angela Harrison, Emma Jean Harrison, Harry Kelly and McAuthor Harrison, seven sisters, Betty Brown, Kathleen Morgan, Joe Frances Brown, Sarah Brown, Barbara Timpson, Mary Brown Callaham and Pauline Lomax and four brothers, James Leroy Brown, James Kelly, James Herbert Brown and John L. Brown.
