Ms. Gladys Wilson, daughter of the late Timothy Dansby and the late Cleo Adams Dansby was born in Edgefield County, SC on October 26, 1935. She passed on May 5, 2024, at Gilchrist Hospice in Columbia, MD. She was 88 years old.

Gladys graduated from Edgefield High School. After graduation she moved to Laurel, MD where she made her home. She was a Jehovah’s Witnesses and worked for the University of Maryland as a cook and custodian for over 20 years.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by a son, Larry Walker; four brothers, Timothy Dansby, Leroy Dansby, Robert Lee Dansby and Thomas Dansby and three sisters, Helen Yeldell, Juanita Dansby, and Mozel Foster.

Gladys is survived by a daughter, Gail Ross of Greenwood, SC, a son, Johnny Lee Walker (Diane) of Elkridge, MD; three sisters, Addie R. Holleman and Ola M. Dansby both of Atlanta, GA and Annie M. Gaines of Washington, DC; six brothers, William “Bill” Dansby (Janny) of Washington, DC, Chris “Woody” Dansby (Gladys) of Capital Heights, MD, Leroy Morgan, Willie Morgan and Joe Morgan (Lucille) all of Greenwood, SC and Rich Morgan (Maylee) of McCormick, SC; eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a hosts of other relatives and friends.
