Ida Mae Tolbert was born January 12, 1945 in McCormick County, SC to the late George Prescott and the late Rosa Lee Carter Holmes. She was the widow of Elijah Tolbert. She departed this life on August 28, 2026. She was 81 years old.
Mae attended Edgefield County Public Schools. She was a devoted member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Plum Branch, SC. She worked as a skilled textile worker until her retirement.
Mae leaves to cherish her memories her daughters; Laura Ann Tolbert and Felicia Machell Tolbert both of Plum Branch, SC and Renee Melinda Tolbert of Charlotte, NC; her son, Charles David Talbert (Lori) of Suffolk, VA; two sisters; Marie Corley (Ernest) of North Augusta, SC and Marion Hill (William) of Plum Branch, SC, three grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband Mae was preceded in death by her son, Mark Lee Tolbert, brothers, Richard Holmes and Willie Carter; and a sister, Rosa Lee Holloway
