James Thomas Edwards was born in Abbeville County, SC on March 19, 1935. He was the son of the late James K. Edwards and Sophronia Cater Edwards. He passed at the home of his sister, Mildred Edwards in Abbeville, SC on June 7, 2025. He was 90 years old.

James lived in Philadelphia, PA for 53 years before moving back to Abbeville in 2022. He was a graduate of ACTS in Abbeville, SC; a US Army Veteran and a store clerk for General Super Markets before retirement.

James is survived by three sons, Edward Earl Wright Sr. of Calhoun Falls, SC, Carl Donell Wright of Aiken, SC and Paul Roscoe Wright (Bettye) of Kingsland, GA; a sister, Mildred A. Edwards of the home; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
