Jannie Bell Jennings

Jannie Bell Jennings was born on January 22, 1928 in McCormick, SC to the late John and Mamie “Rab” Patterson Jennings. She departed this life on November 15, 2022 in Greenwood, SC. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Jannie was a member of New Generations Outreach Ministries in Greenwood, SC where she was Mother of The Church. She was also a member of Women's Home Aid Society #1. She attended  McCormick County Schools and worked as a home aid before her retirement.

Jannie called everyone family. She was a friend to all and never met a stranger. She enjoyed flowers and working in her garden.

In addition to her parents, Jannie was preceded in death by her brothers, John Thomas Jennings, Fred Jennings, Willie Jennings and Robert Jennings; sisters, Celand Jennings Kelly and  Emma L. Herrington.

Jannie’s  memories will be cherished by her daughter, Sallie (Hanable) Houston of McCormick, SC; grandchildren, Landarius S. Houston of McCormick, SC and Detravius H. Houston of Spartanburg, SC; brother-in-law, Apostle Charles Herrington of Augusta GA; special sister, Elizabeth (Loyd) Quarles of Greenwood, SC, special son, Bill Quarles of Bolivar, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends.
