John Thomas Kelly Obituary

The life on John T. Kelly began on June 3, 1943. He was  born to the late Elijah and Celand Kelly, in McCormick , South Carolina. He departed this life on Thursday, October 22, 2021. John was one of four children, Three siblings Rosa Lee Anderson, Ramon Kelly and Robert Jennings preceded him in death. A lifetime member of Tranquil AME Church, John accepted Christ as his savior and for years He served as Trustee, Church Bus Driver and on the Male Choir as well as The Sons of Allen. 

After graduating from Mims High School in Mccormick, South Carolina, John enlisted and served in the United States Airforce for four years and was Honorably discharged and served in the United States Army Reserve. He worked for Monsanto Company where he retired and began working as a Maintenance Supervisor for McCormick County Apartments.  Always the life of the party, he kept a smile on his face and a joke in his pocket.  He loved to make others laugh. His favorite pastime was fishing and cookng.

John leaves to cherish many close friends and loved ones to include  4 children Dr. Sctonda Kelly Gordon in which he called Leshia and resided with until his death in Augusta, Ga (Dr. Heldin Gordon), Kendrick T. Kelly, Sr. (Rosalyn Kelly) Augusta, Ga , Sally Parks (Derrick Parks) McCormick, SC and Anderson Kelly Perry (Quinisha Kelly Perry) Springfield, FL, 16 grands and 13 Great Grands, a brother Willie Kelly (Jackie) of Plum Branch, SC , one Aunt Janie Bell Jennings and a hosts of nieces and nephews.
