John Oliver Norman was born in McCormick County, SC on April 5, 1949 to the late Alexander Brown Sr. and Fannie Norman Brown. He departed this life on August 5 , 2024 in Greer, SC. He was 75 years old.

John was a member of Little Mill Baptist Church in McCormick, SC. He attended McCormick County Schools and worked in Logging before retirement. John loved fishing , playing cards and eating wild game with his family and friends every month.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Norman and Johnny Robert Brown and his stepmother, Dorothy Brown.

John’s memories will be cherished by his sisters, Alberta Barnette (James) of Rock Hill, SC, Shirley Jackson (Glenn) of McDonough, GA and Emma Jean Smith (Kristian Sr.) of Decatur, GA; two brothers, Alexander Brown, Jr of Chesterfield, SC and Lyn L. Brown of Rock Hill, SC; five aunts, Ellen Lackey, Vernell Yarbrough and Lillie Mae Norman all of Willington, SC, Jessie Norman Brown of McCormick, SC  and Louise Bolden of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters-in-law, Louise Brown of Willington, SC and Maybell Calhoun Norman of Anderson, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
