Leroy "Lee" Moore

Leroy (Lee) Moore, formally of Fort Washington, MD, transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on February 14, 2024, at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA, with his family by his side.

Leroy was born September 12, 1946, in McCormick, SC to the late James Moore and Margie Dorn Moore.

Leroy attended Shiloh AME Church at an early age.

Leroy graduated from Mims High School in McCormick, SC. After graduating, he moved to Fredericksburg, VA for a few years and then moved to Washington, DC, where he met the love of his life, the late Jean Moore.

Leroy was an independent Insurance Agent and a Party Promoter/Event Planner.

Leroy loved his family and will always be remembered by his daughter, Joy Moore of Fredericksburg, VA. along with his grandchildren, Chaz Moore (Deborah) of Maryland, Tiara Moore and Jazmyn Moore of  Fredericksburg, VA, his great grandchildren Chazity and Blake Moore of Maryland, Londyn Carter, King Carter and Prince Carter of Fredericksburg, VA, his sisters, Joann Tolbert (Johnathan) of Plum Branch, SC, Jannie Moore of McCormick, SC, Thelma Richardson (Marvin) of Greenwood, SC, his brothers, Johny (Pete) Moore of McCormick, SC, Timothy Moore (Paula) of Wilmington, NC, sister-in-law’s, Pauline LaVere, Gloria Samuel, Annie Chapman and Ruby Moore, brother-in-law, Robert Latney, his only loving aunt, Mary Leo Richardson of Columbia, SC and two very special cousins, Carolyn Francisco and Betty Price and a host of family and friends.

Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, the late Jean Moore, his parents, James Moore and Margie (Dorn) Moore, great granddaughter Chandler Moore, two sisters, Bobbie J. Tate and Zelma Blair, four brothers, Edward Moore, James David Moore, Robert (Dagwood) Moore, Willie (Bill) Moore and John “Jack”  Dorn.
