Lizzie Lue Mims Garrett was born on December 7, 1938 in Lincolnton GA. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Annie Mae Mims. Mrs. Garrett passed on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. She was 83 years old.

Mrs. Garrett was the wife of the late Freddie Lee Garrett Sr.  They were married for 48 years and were blessed with nine children.

Mrs. Garrett was compassionate about serving the Lord. She was a member of New Life Outreach Ministries in McCormick, SC where she served  the church and church members faithfully until her health declined.  She was always willing to help regardless of the time of day. She attended McCormick County Schools and dedicated her life to her family. She loved taking care of her children, grandchildren and other family members. She always gave her family advice and encouragement. She also loved her flowers.

Mrs. Garretts legacy will be cherished by her daughter, Felicia Garrett of the home and her sons, Rev. Glen (Brenda) Mims and  Joseph W. Garrett both of McCormick, SC, Anthony (Angela) Garrett of Augusta, Ga, John (Sandra) Garrett of Troy, SC, Bobby (Tammie) Garrett of Greenwood, SC and Rev. Paul (Alexandria) Garrett of Anderson, SC,  two brothers, Wilbor (Evelyn) Mims and Charlie (Mamie) Norman, her sisters, Willie (The late Rev. Bernard) White, Lillie (Wallace) Martin, Betty Norman, Shirley Norman and Robbie (Philp) Harrison, eighteen grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Garrett was precede in death by two sons, Freddie Lee Garrett Jr. and Willie MacAuthor Garrett and two brothers, Joe Lee (Jane) Mims and Bobby (Teresa) Norman
