Marion Banks, born January 27, 1943, in McCormick County SC. He was the son of the late Robert Banks and the late Martha Anderson Banks Norman. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at the age of 79. He was married twice in life. The first marriage to Alice Tucker Banks, and to this union two children were born. The second marriage to the late Brenda Bryant Banks, and to this union two children were born and two step children.

Marion is predeceased by his wife: Brenda Bryant Banks, four brothers: Robert Banks Jr., John Banks, James M. Banks, Roosevelt B. Banks and one sister: Kitty Mae Banks.

Marion is survived by sons: Marion (Deloris) Tucker of Charleston, SC, DeAndre Mandrell Banks of Mt. Carmel, SC, Randy (Mica) Bryant of Anderson, SC: daughters, Stephanie (Roy) Banks Beaty of Columbia, SC, Jacqueline (Frisco) Banks Blackwell of Abbeville, SC and Shelby (Jerome) Bryant Grant of Calhoun Falls, SC; two brothers; Henry (Mamie) Banks and Arthur (Linda) Banks; two sisters, Mary Ann Robinson and  Martha (Isaac) Turman both of Mt. Carmel, SC; twenty-four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Marion attended McCormick County Schools and had many professions throughout his life. He worked as a home builder, mechanic, pulpwood logger and club owner. His hobbies included playing baseball, shooting pool, hunting and fishing.  He was a kind soul and always was willing to help others. Marion was a member of Spring Grove Baptist Church, and his legacy will carry on forever reminding us to treat others how you want to be treated.
