Ondrey Mae Settles, who we all lovingly know as “Cookie”, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 77.

She was born in McCormick, SC on August 1, 1948 to the late Al Martin and Ondrey Drayton. She grew up in Willington, SC, went to school in McCormick County and graduated from Mims High School in 1966. She was a faithful member of Little Mill Baptist Church.

After high school, she worked at the Bloomsburg Textile Mill in Abbeville, SC for several years. One of the many contributions she made over the years was that of family caregiver. She provided care for her mother, grandmother, brothers, aunts, and uncles.

She enjoyed reading romance novels, doing word searches, watching her soap operas, and watching westerns- a pastime she especially loved sharing with her son during his visits.

She is survived by her devoted son, Brian (Norma) Drayton of Savannah, GA; brothers, Melvin Drayton of Hilton Head, SC and John L. Drayton of the home. She also leaves to cherish her memories, two beautiful granddaughters, Janelle (Antonio) Spencer and Faith Drayton, both of Savannah, GA; great-granddaughter, Madison Makenzie Spencer; two nephews; and a host of cousins, other family members, and friends.

She will be deeply missed, but her sweet spirit will live on forever in out hearts.
