Ora Murray Wideman was born on July 1, 1933 in McCormick, SC. She was the widow of Thomas Wideman and daughter of the late Major and Mamie Hill. Ora  went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. She was 88 years old.

Ora was a member of Tranquil A.M.E. Church in Bradley, SC. She attended McCormick County Schools and was a homemaker, caregiver, nanny, seamstress and master gardener. Ora was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and auntie. She never met a stranger and was a friend to many.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ora was preceded in death by her sons; Charlie Wideman and Clay Wideman, daughter, Gloria Scott and her siblings; Paul Murray, James Murray, Clyde Hill, Willie Lee Murray, Pauline Moore and Mary Ellen Calhoun.

Ora’s memories will be cherished by her son; Thomas Lee (Susan) Wideman of McCormick, SC. Her daughters; Flora Wideman (Donald) Belton and Shirley Wideman Foster and a daughter-in law Brenda Wideman all of McCormick, SC; a sister, Lillian Gertrude Murray of McCormick, SC; nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
