Robert Lee “Sonny” Martin, husband of Carrie Lee Martin was born on May 18, 1946 in Parksville, SC. He was a son of the late James Pressley Martin and the late Mable Lee Robertson Martin. Robert passed on December 2, 2020 at the age of 74. Robert was preceded in death by six brothers; Willie Pressley Martin, James Martin, Joe Lewis Martin, Jasper Martin, Taylor Martin and Tommie Lee Martin, two sisters; Luegenia Chamberlain and Louise Morton and his best friend, Robert Holloway.

Robert was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Parksville, SC, He attended schools in McCormick County and worked in the logging industry. Robert loved God, his family, his dogs, fishing, coon hunting and spending time with his friends.

In addition to his wife memories of Robert will be cherished by his  sons; Robert (Brandy) Martin of Belton, SC, Jeffrey Martin of Plum Branch, SC and Jeremy Martin of Oxnard, CA; his daughters, Stacey Adams of McCormick, SC and Natasha (Charles) Fuller of Greenwood, SC, his brothers; Edward Martin of Maryland, Henry (Yolanda) Martin and Dewey (Barbara) Martin both of Plum Branch, SC,  his sisters; Wynonia Young of Baltimore, MD, Edith Isaac of McCormick, SC and Ethel (Willie) Williams of Plum Branch, SC, his eight grandchildren,  his great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
