Samuel Lee Price was born on June 12, 1942 in McCormick County, SC. He was the widower of Mary Price and son of the late Willie and Katherine Griffith Price. He passed on October 15, 2025. He was 83 years old.

Samuel was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Plum Branch, SC. He attended McCormick County Schools and later moved to Washington, DC where he lived for over 40 years. He retired from Clark Construction Company in Washington, DC as a foreman. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching his Washington Commanders.

Samuel’s memories will be cherished by his daughters, Sarah Spears of Hyattsville, MD, Brenda Price and Annie price both of Washington, DC, Barbara Price of Falling Waters, WV, Samantha Jackson (Claude) of Greenbelt, MD and Melissa Price of Plum Branch, SC; brothers, James Price of Plum Branch, SC and Harry Price of Washington, DC; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his brothers, Felton Price Sr. and Willie Price Jr.; sisters, Annie Lou Price, Nellie Jennings, Hassie Yeldell, Beatrice Gilchrist and Fannie Lou Wright and a son-in-law, Ernest Spears.
