Sandra Turner Durant, widow of Richard Durant was born on January 25, 1960 in McCormick, SC to the late James Paris. Sr. and Beatrice Wideman Turner. She departed this life on August 22, 2022 in Greenville, SC. She was 62 years old.
Sandra was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in McCormick, SC. She attended McCormick High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Technology from Piedmont Technical College. She worked as a welder before her retirement. She also supported the W.O.L.F. Foundation (Widows, Orphans and Less Fortunate) which is an origination that feeds and donates to those in need.
In addition to her husband and parents, Sandra was preceded in death by three brothers, Joel Turner, James Turner Jr. and Henry Wideman and a sister Sharon Turner.
Sandra leaves to cherish her fond memories; her sons, Sgt 1st Class Alonzo (Tina) Turner Sr. of El Paso, TX and Jakemedric Turner of Greenwood, SC; her daughters, Min. Cartisha (Elder Cornelius) Bonner of Andersson, SC, Paulinia Turner of Greenville, SC and Shoniek Turner of Atlanta, GA; her sister, Mary T. (Johnny) Gantt of Greenwood, SC; her brothers, Carl Turner of McCormick, SC and John C. Turner of Abbeville, SC; Eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
