Sandra Arlene Gordon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Sandra was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to James Graham and Edith Graham of Navassa, North Carolina. She graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore and later pursued her passions for beauty and design, becoming a Mary Kay Director and studying interior design.
Sandra was first married to Richard Moore before meeting and marrying Aaron Gordon. Sandra and Aaron shared 40 beautiful years of marriage. In the early 2000s, they relocated to McCormick, South Carolina, where they built their dream home and became devoted members of First Baptist Church of McCormick.
Sandra enjoyed a long and impactful career as an Executive Administrative Assistant for the Wayne County Educational System in Detroit, Michigan, where her dedication to education and organizational expertise touched the lives of many students and educators.
Following Aaron’s passing in 2018, Sandra’s mother, Edith, at the age of 95, moved in to lovingly care for her over the past six years.
Sandra is survived by her devoted daughter, Alcinda Cole; her caring mother, Edith Graham; and her sister, Valerie Derricks. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Aaryce Hayes and Alyta Gordon; and her cherished grandchildren: Bria Walker, Brynnae Perrin, Sri Gordon, Gerald Hayes Jr., Alysa Aden and Shawn Barnes. She is preceded in death by her stepson, Aaron Gordon Jr.
Sandra will be remembered for her love of beauty, her impeccable style, her nurturing spirit, and her unwavering dedication to family, faith, and education. She inspired everyone who knew her with her grace, resilience, and tireless work ethic, leaving behind a legacy of beauty, strength, and service.
Sandra Arlene Gordon’s life was a testament to love, faith, and perseverance. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
