Shirley A. Williams Dean, 70, of West Charleston Road in Troy, SC wife of Willie A. Dean, Jr. gained her wings on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at her home. Born in Columbus, MS, she was the daughter of the late Oscar L. and Edna L. Williams. She attended Lowndes County Mississippi Public Schools. She was a member of the Millway Baptist Church in Bradley, SC, where she sang in the choir . She was employed with Hickory Knob State Park until her retirement. After retirement, Shirley spent time doing the things that she loved which were cooking, sewing and taking care of others.

In addition to her parents Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Williams and Oscar Williams, Jr. and two brothers-in-law's, Robert Dean and Matthew Dean.

Forty-eight years ago, Shirley met and married the love of her life Willie A. Dean, Jr. to this union three children were born, Christy (Timothy) Hackett of Greenwood, SC, Cory (Gwen) Dean of Lincolnton, GA, and Curtis (Melissa) Dean of McCormick, SC; two stepsons that she called her own, Leon (Bridget) Sibert of Saluda, SC and Antonio Letman of McCormick, SC; three brothers, James(Sherry) Williams of Columbus, MS, Tyrone Cunningham of Columbus, MS and Oscar (Pam) Williams of Birmingham, AL; seven sisters, Delores (RD) Rice, and Castella (Earnest) Fields, both of Columbus, MS, Odessa (Jerry) Fields of Hamilton, MS, Sarah (Bobby) Sanders of Tupelo, MS, Mary Thomas of Huntsville, AL, Shirley Bush of Columbus, MS and Jackie Cunningham of Birmingham, AL; four sisters-in-law's, Effie Barker and Ruth Blair of McCormick, SC, Linda Dean and Ella Sibert of Greenwood, SC; three brothers-in-law's, Harold (Simone) Dean of Savannah, GA, Thomas (Mona) Dean of Chattanooga, TN and Everette Dean of McCormick, SC;18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends are left to mourn her passing.
