Walter Henry Gardner departed this life on August 5, 2023 at his home in McCormick, SC. He was 66 years old. He was the son of the late Otis and Annie Pearl Gilchrist Gardner.

Walter’s memories will be cherished by his daughter, Daniel Moss of Thomaston, GA, son, Malcolm A. Gardner of McCormick, SC, grandchildren, Azaria Cullers and Tazyah Elems both of Thomaston, GA, sisters, Evangeline Burton and Joyce Rookard both of McCormick, SC, an aunt raised as a sister, Sarah Ware of Ashville, NC, niece, Quanda Gardner, nephews, Antwan Gardner and Azabia Gardner, paternal aunt, Berthia Gardner, maternal aunts, Clara Roberts, Lillie Holmes, Annie Ruth Gilchrist and Stella Martin and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death  by his paternal grandparents, Lewis and Eva Smith Gardner, maternal grandparents, Walter and  Nancy Chamberlin Gilchrist and Hattie Bell Gilchrist, brother Andrew Gardner and the love of his life Barbara Ann Robertson.
