William Oscar “Willstick” Johnson was born on October 16, 1968 in Abbeville, SC. He was the son of Josie Wakefield and the late Joseph Oscar Johnson Sr. William departed this life on November 13, 2021 at Prisma Health in Greenville, SC. He was 53 years old.

William graduated from McCormick High School and worked as a call representative for Southeastern Transportation before his health declined.

“Willstick” was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Falcon fan. He loved his children and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. “Willstick” had a big smile and always made his friends and family laugh.

Memories of William will be cherished by his mother, Josie Wakefield of McCormick, SC. His sister, Cynthia (Henry) Price of McCormick, SC. His nephew, Colby Johnson of Greenville, SC.  His son, William O. Johnson Jr. of Atlanta, GA. His daughters; Britney Dorn, Ashanti Johnson and Zakiyyah Patterson-Lomax all of Greenwood, SC. His half-brothers; Joseph R. Johnson Jr. and Kenneth Johnson both of Abbeville, SC, and William Johnson Jr. of Greenwood, SC. His half-sisters Kitty M. Tucker of McCormick, SC and Josephine Duncan of Abbeville, SC. His grandmother, Ruth Wideman of Greenwood, SC. His aunts; Hazel Wideman, Peggy Ross, Kathy Wideman, Connie Mosley, Nanette Wideman, Anna Hurley and Donna Wideman all of Greenwood, SC. His uncle, Willie Wideman Jr. His god sisters; Mamie Gray and Shonland Wakefield. His stepbrother, Terrance Wakefield. His stepsister, Tuwona Wakefield. His nieces; Layla Johnson and Lyracis Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.
