Willie Charlie Swearingen was born on October 1, 1938 in Edgefield County, SC. He was the son of the late George and Lillie Pearl Cheatham Swearinger and husband of Amy Davis Swearinger. Willie passed on April 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was 84 years old. Willie was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Plum Branch, SC. He attended McCormick County Schools and worked in warehousing before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family. In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by a son, Reginald Swearinger, a sister, Bealuh Adams and three brothers, Oneil Swearinger, William Swearinger and Robert Swearinger. Willie’s memories will be cherished by his wife, Amy Davis Swearinger of Washington, DC; two daughters, Wanda Barnes (Bobby) and Monica Smith (Kevin) both of Washington, DC; Five sons, Clarence Davis, Willie Swearinger (Lorna), Marvin Swearinger (Sharleen), Ronald Swearinger, and Antonio Swearinger (Lisa) all of Washington, DC; six sisters, Beatrice Chamberlain of Detroit, MI, Viola Gordon of Hephzibah, GA, Yvonne Smith of Atlanta, GA, Lelia Bell Parks of Edgefield,SC, and Carrie Talbert of Chicago, IL; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
