Willie James Williams was born on February 17, 1945 in McCormick, SC. He was the widower of Jessie Patterson Williams and son of the late James Parkers and Lula Mae Williams. Willie passed on Monday, March 3, 2025 in Greenwood, SC he was 80 years old.

Willie was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in McCormick, SC where he served as a Deacon. He attended Mims High School and worked as a cement finisher before retirement.   

In addition to his wife and parents, Willie was preceded in death by a son, Leon Patterson, a daughter, Patricia Blackwell and a sister, Carrie Lou Cunningham.

Willie’s memories will be cherished by his daughter, Cynthia W. Jennings (Charlie) of McCormick, SC; sons, James Williams (Micheal) of Jackson, SC, Johnny Williams (Tonya) and Bobby Williams (Wyshica) both of McCormick, SC and Brad Williams (Angie) of Greenwood, SC;; a brother, Sammy Lyons of McCormick, SC; sisters, Mary Sweet of Maryland and Arzella Freeman of McCormick, SC, a host of other brothers and sisters, a son-in-law, Chester Blackwell of McCormick, SC and a daughter-in-law, Caroline Patterson of Greenwood, SC, 18 grandchildren,24 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
